Tom Borden Memorial Tree Planting

About the Event... All Invited to attend

The Colorado Forestry Association, Society of American Foresters, Colorado State Forest Service and Warner College of Natural Resources will host a memorial tree planting to honor forestry leader Tom Borden at 5 p.m. Thursday, April 22, in front of the Forestry building at Colorado State University. As state forester for 25 years, Borden was the longest-running director of the CSFS, and was past president of the SAF and National Association of State Foresters. Selling Live Trees

Here is some information I obtained regarding the selling of live trees from Tree Farms. I spoke with Brain Allen (303-239-4154) at the Department of Agriculture this past week and learned that if we sold live trees we would have to be licensed and inspected and would fall under regulations that the Nursery Industry has to follow. If we give trees away at no cost those regulations do not apply.

Non-compliance can be very costly and it could be problematic for our Tree Farmers who are also in EQIP or Forest Ag Programs that do not allow violations of law.
